Lauren

Hi there! I'm Lauren, the smiling face you'll meet as you step into Island Foot & Ankle. Beyond my role here, I'm a passionate reader, often lost in the worlds of literature, and I cherish time spent with friends, whether it's exploring new eateries, enjoying each other's company, or going to concerts. Delving into history through museum visits and documentaries is a favorite pastime of mine, alongside the joy of keeping up with my lively 5-year-old son, whose boundless energy keeps me on my toes.

In addition to my receptionist duties, I've pursued diverse interests and achievements. I completed a two-year culinary degree, relishing the artistry of food preparation. As a summer intern for the US Embassy for 2 years, I gained insights into international relations while personally assisting the Ambassador. I've also embraced the challenge of learning Korean and ventured into entrepreneurship with my own catering company, sharing my culinary delights with others and loved ones. With a commitment to excellence and a wealth of experiences, I'm here to ensure your visit to our office is as pleasant and efficient as possible.

Heather

I was born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania just south of Pittsburgh. After graduating from high school in 2002, I moved to Key Largo, Florida to become a scuba diving instructor. Shortly after completing my courses, I moved to Nassau, Bahamas and worked at Stuart’s Cove dive center for the holiday season. I spent some time traveling across London and Belgium before moving to Cozumel, Mexico to work as a dive instructor. Hurricane Wilma in 2005 forced me to move back to Pennsylvania. I opened a restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland in 2008 and sold it in 2013. I then worked as a pipeliner for several years before becoming a rural carrier for the USPS. The cold and brutal weather of the northeast made me decide to move to Texas in 2023.

I am a single mom to a 5 year old son and a Great Dane named Frankie. We are extremely active; our hobbies include going to the beach, traveling, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, off roading, camping, walking the trails looking for rocks, cooking, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.
